D3 women’s volleyball season began 9/1/2021. Since then, after a regional realignment took place, I’ve been following different conferences, focusing mostly on Midwest/Central and East Region squads. I also post on D3 Top 25 polls and teams that “also receive votes” in the Top 25.
My intent at the moment is to give a bit more positive attention to the Eastern squads which are strong, but aren’t likely to break into the Top 25 simply because the preponderance of the currently ranked teams don’t come from that area. Most ranked teams are in the Great Lakes/Midwest/Central/West areas.
I’d say my earliest somewhat unexpected surprise teams at this point are UW-Eau Claire, Wartburg, IA, and perhaps Denison (OH) after the latest Top 25 poll comes out today. Speaking further of those out East squads, Rowan (out of the NJAC) despite not playing last spring, is off to a 7-3 start.
Greendale summer band season has concluded. Letter Carriers is scheduled to be active for another month or so.
