My first underdog squad for ’22 is going to be D1 Cincinnati (yes, I know the Bearcats got knocked out, but had they managed to upset Alabama, they’d still be alive for the championship).
I rarely post on D1 squads, because I feel, for the most part, the best conferences are over-hyped. I remember the year after Ohio State put a 59-0 shellacking on Wisconsin and then went on to take the National Championship that year, there were cameras taking in the day the Buckeye team reported for training camp the next season. To a point, it generates interest, but there’s a fine line between that and putting too much pressure on a squad.
I’m also in Green Bay Packer territory. Again, I’m glad they’re doing very well, but if they fail to meet expectations, the media’s going to be all over them.
