Back in the early to mid ’80s I attended a small junior college. In the 1983-84 year a small band was formed. We caught lightning in a bottle, so to speak. Despite only having 10 players sign up, the instrumental balance was just right. That band played for 3 basketball games that year and 2 the following year. The last game was in a relatively small gym and it was a very tight game throughout. Even though the team lost, I loved the high-energy atmosphere. We rotated off, playing small band arrangements of “Cute”, “Watermelon Man” and a third number whose title escapes me at the moment. during halftime.
Played in 2 parades over the holiday weekend. Crowds were large and supportive.
