Volleyball Tournament Time!
D3 Conference Tournaments begin today. As the regular season wound down, there were 2 conference races that had interesting endings. The top 6 teams from the Skyline Conference (New York City area) qualify. The top 3 got in with 11-1 records, and if the last match had gone opposite the way it did, 4-6 would have finished 7-4, so all 3 tournament squads would have had to have been determined by two 3-way tie-breakers. In the Little East Conference (MA & CT area squads) the top 6 also get in. 2-6 was a 5 way tie with one match left. 2 of the tied squads play each other, so it’ll end up a 4 way tie for 2nd. Either way these get in, it’s still a matter of who goes where. One underdog squad I’ll be following is Sul Ross State out of the ASC (Texas, MS). The Lobos weren’t expected to qualify, but they did. I’m out for now.
Volleyball and other Athletic Underdog Talk 
Interestingly, Sul Ross had bus trouble so their match has been cancelled with UTD. If it had been Covid, it would be counted as a forfeit. Not sure in this case. If not a forfeit then they will be a 4 or 5 seed.
